Glenbuchat is the perfect setting for outdoor euthusiasts to enjoy some shooting, stalking or fishing.

Rather than us talk about the activities at Glenbuchat, here is what a recent visitor to the Glen had to say:

As you round Tom Breac, you look down onto the valley of Glenbuchat, enclosed by the Firbriggs Hills in the distance. One of our party was an American who stated, that view is what we Americans dream of Scotland to be.

Our party booked a few days of casual shooting, insisting that we be led and not lead. Over the next few days we were offered what can only be described as some excellent shooting, with the addition of relaxed friendly conversation (banter). It is fair to say that there was an abundance of food offered at all times of the day. The food offered could have been delivered by Nigella Lawson herself (though we never actually saw her).

The birds that inhabit Glenbuchat are what you might call Highland Hardy; only clean shots will do when it comes to some of the higher birds. We were offered a squadron of both reared and wild ducks from later afternoon to early evening. While hidden away in the grasses, we often heard the loud splash of trout and were treated to some magnificent views of the glen as the sun set.

Glenbuchat lends itself to walked up shooting well, having both high and low level ground. One can choose to venture up onto the glen for Grouse or the low ground for Pheasant and ground game.

Glenbuchat is an estate our party intend to visit annually. The estate is run by both capable and confident hands, and with the added benefit of experience, we believe Glenbuchat to be an estate to grow on the shooting map.
